Melanie Guy

I spent some years living on the water. My current work with metal is interpreted from those experiences combined with observations of landscape and the elements, while living in the West-country.

I explore the play of light on the surface of my material through subtle textural marks. The surface may be treated tonally and I use various mark-making techniques for significant expression, capturing the essence through concise and controlled statement.

I taught art and design for many years, to various age groups, using diverse media and techniques. I am a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and a Member of Plymouth Society of Artists.
