Belinda Fitzwilliams
I have spent a lifetime drawing, observing and practicing. Attempting to see things in a personal way. Striving to balance strong emotions with disciplines demanded in the use of paint, pencil or prints. Combining my ability to draw with the essentials of design required on a canvas, paper or plate. Drawing or sketching everyday feeds new experiences and I feel great joy in creating and seeing the world with an artist’s eye.
I have given up most of my teaching after many years in both Adult Education and private classes. I exhibit in London & locally. In 2004 I won The NEAC Drawing Scholarship and attended their drawing courses. The year finished with an exhibition of my drawings at the Mall Galleries as part of the NEAC Annual Exhibition. This resulted in my being awarded the Arts Club Drawing Prize. Since then, I have had a number of enquiries and invitations to exhibit.
